Raffle Winner To Visit Top Of Mackinac Bridge

MACKINAW CITY (WWJ/AP) - Here's your opportunity to win a rare prize: a climb to the top of the Mackinac Bridge.

The Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association is sponsoring a fund-raising raffle with the winning prize being a climb to the top of the bridge. From there, it's 552 feet to the water.

The nearly 5-mile-long bridge links Michigan's two peninsulas and crosses the Straits of Mackinac, where Lakes Huron and Michigan converge.

Proceeds from the raffle will help the association restore and maintain historic Great Lakes lighthouses. The organization has adopted the St. Helena Island Light Station and the Cheboygan River Front Range Light.

Tickets are $5 dollars each or five for $20. The drawing is scheduled for July 31. For more information, click here or call 231-436-5580.
