Radiothon May Be Over But Fundraising Still Active For THAW

DETROIT (WWJ) - The THAW Radiothon may be over, with more than $1.1 million raised, but companies, like Kroger, are still generating more money for the cause.

Kroger Consumer Communications Manager Ken McClure tells WWJ that the drive is still on to help.

"Beginning February 17 through March 1 - we are going to utilize our coin boxes in store, which are consumer contributions, that come in from Kroger shoppers and we're going to pledge a minimum of ten thousand dollars to the THAW fund. And we are going to encourage our shoppers to utilize those boxes to help us exceed that amount," said McClure.

McClure says with the extreme cold weather this winter, Kroger felt compelled to help out in way to help keep people warm this season.

THAW'S online Auction is available from Tuesday, February 4th at 6 am - Monday, February 10th at 6 pm.
