Protecting And Restoring Habitat For Aquatic Wildlife To Get Million Dollar Bump

DETROIT (AP) - The Michigan Department of Natural Resources plans to distribute $1 million to protect and restore habitat for fish and other aquatic wildlife.

The department says that grants will be awarded to government agencies, Native American tribes, nonprofit groups and individuals on a competitive basis. Projects can focus on rivers, inland lakes or the Great Lakes.

They can protect habitat that is still intact or rehabilitate habitat that's degraded.
