Prosecutor Charges 3 Adults With Manslaughter In Shooting Death Of 4-Year-Old

DETROIT (WWJ) - Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has filed manslaughter charges against three adults in the death of a 4-year-old Detroit boy who was accidentally shot by his 4-year-old cousin as they played.

Worthy says the three were at a house Thursday when the young girl found a loaded rifle in a room where children were playing.

Authorities say the girl shot Jamel Witcher Jr. in the chest.

Fifty-three year-old Patricia Johnson and  66-year-old Robert B. Richardson along with 55-year-old Harvey Witcher face the manslaughter charges.

It wasn't immediately known if the suspects have lawyers.
