Price's Next Start For Tigers Pushed Back To Saturday

DETROIT (AP) — David Price's next start is being pushed back two days as the Detroit left-hander recovers from a right hamstring strain.

Price hurt himself Friday night when he stepped on a bat that had been tossed aside by an umpire in anticipation of a possible play at the plate. He was scheduled to start Thursday, but he'll instead be slotted for Saturday at St. Louis.

The Tigers have a day off Monday, so they won't have to add anyone new to the rotation in place of Price.

Right-hander Justin Verlander, who has been sidelined all season with a strained triceps, threw off flat ground Sunday. He said he might be ready for a light bullpen session Tuesday.
