Former President Clinton To Speak At Jefferson-Jackson Dinner In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Former President Bill Clinton is slated to speak Saturday night during a fundraising event for the Michigan Democratic Party.

About 2,000 people are expected to attend the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at Cobo Center.

"It's been a really exciting week," said Michigan Democratic Spokesman Josh Pugh, "it's not everyday that a former President comes to Michigan and we're just really flattered that the President is coming to town."

It shows that he cares a lot of this fall, said Pugh, referring to November elections.

Clinton took time to tour the made in Detroit watch factory Shinola before his appearance at Cobo Center.

Last year, Vice President Joe Biden spoke at the annual dinner.
