Power Fully Restored In Troy After 2-Day Outage
TROY (WWJ) - DTE Energy officials say power has been fully restored to 10,000 homes and businesses in Troy, two days after a substation fire knocked everyone offline.
A spokesperson said just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday that operations were finally back to normal.
Approximately 10,000 DTE Energy customers, including most of the City of Troy's civic campus, lost power around 8:30 a.m. Thursday when a fire broke out at a transformer station at Big Beaver Road and Livernois Road.

During the outage, the Troy Police Department doubled staffing in order to provide extra patrol to areas impacted by the outage. And on Friday, free water and ice were distributed to impacted residents, courtesy of DTE.
"The Troy Police Department would like to thank Woodside Bible Church, who provided their facility as a cooling center for residents for the last two days," officials said in a statement. "The Troy Police Department would also like to extend sincere appreciation to DTE for their open communication and cooperation during this outage."
