Power Being Restored To Almost 15K DTE Customers After Widespread Outage

FERNDALE (WWJ) -- The power of some Ferndale, Royal Oak, Hazel Park and Madison Heights residents is starting to come back on after an outage that affected as many as 15,000 customers.

DTE Energy Spokesperson Vanessa Waters explained what caused the blackout.

"Tree trimmers hit a sub-transmission line in Ferndale which caused the line to trip out and de-energize the system," Waters said.
