Oakland County Communities Remain Under Boil Water Advisory, Some Until Monday

FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) -- A number of Oakland County communities will remain under a boil water advisory -- some until at least Monday.

A portion of northwest Farmington Hills will remain on a boil water advisory until at least Monday morning.

There was a loss of water pressure Friday night for a couple hours due to a malfunction in a pressure regulating valve located at Halsted and 14 Mile Road -- operated by the Oakland County Water Resources Commission. A new set of water quality tests will now need to be performed for that specific area.

The following Oakland County communities also remain under a mandatory boil water advisory: Commerce Township, Orchard Lake Village, Walled Lake, West Bloomfield Township, Wixom and Novi (the area bounded by 14 Mile on the north, 8 mile on the south, Napier on the west and Haggerty on the east).

Great Lakes Water Authority officials expect to receive the results from the second round of water quality testing on Sunday. Once a second test is clear, the Great Lakes Water Authority will lift the boil water advisory.
