Police: Woman Raped By Older Man Who Offered Ride Home From Bar

PONTIAC (WWJ) - Police in Oakland County are searching for a man who allegedly raped a young woman he met at a bar.

The incident happened late Wednesday night after the two apparently met by chance at Green's Tavern on Baldwin Road in Pontiac.

The 22-year-old Waterford Township woman told police she was originally at the bar with her ex-boyfriend but at some point in the night, he left without her. The woman said another man at the bar offered to give her a ride home, and she accepted.

Instead of taking the woman home, police say the man drove her about a mile away to a vacant lot on Kennett Road and parked his vehicle. The woman told police the man then ordered her into the back of his van and sexually assaulted her. When he was finished, the woman's attacker drove down the road and told her to get out of his car. He then fled the scene.

The man is described as 40- to 60-years-old, about 5'9" tall with a husky build and dark hair.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-858-4911.
