Police: Woman In Serious Condition After Motorcycle Crashes On I-696

DETROIT (WWJ) - One person is hospitalized after being involved in two simultaneous accidents early Sunday morning.

Michigan State Police say the driver crashed on southbound I-75 and 8 Mile Road. The driver got out and was hit by a second car.

Authorities say alcohol may have been a factor in both incidents. An investigation is ongoing.

Just after noon on Sunday, a woman riding a motorcycle crashed on I-696.

Police report that the woman was transferred to hospital with serious head injuries.

The accident closed most of the freeway heading westbound for hours during the investigation.
