Police: Woman In Custody In Connection With Double Shooting In Grand Blanc
GRAND BLANC (WWJ) - Police in Genesee County are working to determine a motive -- after they say a woman shot two people at an apartment complex.
The shooting took place at the Grand Oaks Apartments near downtown Grand Blanc Tuesday. Police say a resident of the complex walked into the leasing office and shot two women- both were leasing agents:
Grand Blanc Detective Sergeant Bryan Byarski identified one of the victims as Tamera Johnson, 45, of Mt. Morris. Byarski says Johnson died as a result of her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. The second victim - eight months pregnant, is Lyric Work, 20-years-old, she remains on life-support.
Byarski says doctors were able to deliver the baby -- seven weeks early. That baby is listed in stable condition.
Police are questioning the suspect, a woman, who is in custody. Byarski is asking that anyone with information call police.
Police are still working to find a motive.
