WESTLAND (WWJ) - A Westland woman is facing felony charges and 15 years behind bars for allegedly firing a weapon after getting into an altercation with other females at a gas station.

Victoria Johnson was arraigned earlier this week in the 18th District Court on charges of discharging a firearm from a vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon. She was ordered held on a $25,000 bond ahead of an Aug. 27 court date.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the area of Cherry Hill and Merriman. Police responded to the area after receiving a report about two vehicles driving recklessly with shots fired.

Officers located one of the vehicles involved and performed a traffic stop, during which they discovered that Johnson, who was sitting in the passenger seat, had a 9mm handgun in her purse. Officers further discovered several live 9mm rounds and a spent shell casing on the front passenger seat floor board, according to a police statement. Johnson was then taken into custody.

Authorities allege that Johnson was involved in an altercation with several females at the Mobil gas station at Cherry Hill and Merriman. As all the women involved fled the area in separate vehicles, police say Johnson fired four to five shots in the air from the moving vehicle she was a passenger in.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
