Police: Thieves Smash Through Check Cashing Store In Stolen SUV
DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are on the lookout for a pair of suspects who smashed through the front of a check cashing store in northwest Detroit with a stolen SUV.
The incident happened early Tuesday morning at the Check 'n Go on Grand River Avenue and Meyers Road, just south of I-96.
Police say the suspects used a stolen Jeep to back through the glass storefront. And while they were likely after cash, police say the crooks might have left empty handed -- the business doesn't have an ATM and the safe wasn't tampered with.
