Police: Teen Kills Teen In Backyard Gun Play In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - A 14-year-old boy has been shot and killed in a neighborhood backyard in Detroit.

Police tell WWJ that a 13-year-old playing with a gun shot another boy killing him Tuesday evening.

Authorities responded to a call of shots fired in the 5300 block of Radnor and found the teen dead in the yard according to police.

Officer Dan Danakowski says the victim died at the scene, while the other boy is detained for questioning.

Early investigation reveals this incident appears to have been an accident.

Police are not releasing the names of either the victim or the shooter.
