Police: Teen Disappears After Being Dropped Off At Detroit School

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are looking for a 15-year-old girl who was nowhere to be found when her mother went to pick her up from school on Detroit's west side.

Police say Javier Gatlin was last seen by her mother at 11 a.m. Wednesday when she was dropped off at Henry Ford High School, on Evergreen Road just south of 8 Mile Road. When her mother returned to the school at 5:20 p.m. to pick her up, Gatlin was nowhere to be found.

Gatlin is described as a black female with a light complexion, 5'2" tall and 220 lbs. with black hair in braids. She was last seen wearing a black jacket with a big mouth on the back, a black hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans. Police say this is Gatlin's first time missing. She's described as being in good physical and mental health.
