Police: Speeding Teen Driver Fatally Crashes Into Bridge

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say a 17-year-old driver was speeding before he lost control of his vehicle and fatally crashed into a bridge face.

The accident happened around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday on the Davison Freeway at Dequindre Street, near I-75 in Detroit.

Michigan State Police say Muhammed Abdo Hussein was traveling westbound on the Davison "at a high rate of speed," when he lost control of his 2005 Nissan, exited the roadway and struck the bridge face.

Hussein was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
