Police: Speed May Have Been A Factor In Accident Killing 1, Injuring Another

DETROIT (WWJ) - One is dead and another person is hurt after a fiery crash this weekend on Detroit's west side.

Police say the SUV was headed east on Schaefer when it hit a light pole and went up in flames. One of the passengers suffered from burns and died at the scene, while the other was thrown from the car.

The injured passenger is expected to survive.

Authorities continue to investigate but initial reports say speed may have been a factor in the crash.
