Police: Speed, Alcohol Factors In Fatal Motorcycle Crash

BRANDON TWP. (WWJ) - Police say speed and alcohol and factors in a motorcycle crash that took the life of a 21-year-old Oakland County man.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Monday on Hadley Road near Sawmill Lake Road in Brandon Township.

Police say Jacob Siggins was operating a 2004 Honda CBR 600RR motorcycle southbound on Hadley Road when he lost control on a curve and went off the roadway, striking a tree.

Siggins, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say witnesses indicated that Siggins was traveling at a high rate of speed as he entered the curve. Alcohol also appears to be a factor in the crash, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation.
