Police: Skateboarder Damages Squad Car While Taking Selfies

KALAMAZOO (WWJ/AP) - Police in Michigan are trying to identify a skateboarder who damaged a parked squad car while taking selfies on the unoccupied vehicle.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said the suspect approached the car about 3:40 a.m. Sunday in downtown and took photos in front of the vehicle, kneeling on the hood and lying on the windshield. Police say he then climbed onto the roof of the cruiser before leaving.

An officer returned to the car and found the damage. Police say the suspect's actions were recorded by the vehicle's dash camera.

The suspect was last seen skateboarding away. Authorities released his picture and say he's wanted on felony charges for damaging a police vehicle.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at Kalamazoo Public Safety at 269-337-8994.
