Police Seek To ID 2 Men In Parking Garage Killing Near MSU

EAST LANSING (WWJ/AP) - Authorities are trying to identify two men in connection with the shooting death of a man in an East Lansing parking structure near the Michigan State University campus.

Police say Friday that surveillance video show the men near the Grove Street garage on Feb. 5 where 22-year-old Michael Anthony Smith of DeWitt Township was shot multiple times.

In addition, a 21-year-old DeWitt Township man was wounded in the shooting. His name hasn't been released. Neither victim attended Michigan State.

Police dispatch reports said a woman called 911, reporting 15 gunshots. A campus alert was issued at MSU following the incident, although police said Neither victim was a Michigan State student.

Police said the shooting was not believed to be a random act, although a possible motive has not been disclosed.

The first suspect is described as a black male about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and between 160 and 185 pounds. The second suspect is also a black male, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall and approximately 200 pounds.

The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle described as a red, four-door sedan, possibly a Lincoln or Dodge.
