Police Seek Help Identifying Culprit Who Beat Six Kittens To Death

HAZEL PARK (CBS Detroit) Police are seeking the public's help figuring out who committed a heinous act of abuse against six furry creatures.

Police said six kittens were found October 6 beaten to death in Hazel Park. "Per the necropsy, they died from multiple fractures," the Ferndale Cat Shelter said in a Facebook post.

The murdered cats were found in the area of 416 E. George.

According to the shelter, the individual responsible stole neighborhood cats, who had owners and caretakers, and killed them.

Anyone with information that would lead to the person responsible is asked to call Hazel Park Detective Janeen Gielniak at 248-542-6161 x345.

The shelter put out a call seeking assistance on Facebook, and public reaction was horrified. "Disgusting! No one in their right mind would do such a thing. This person is a sick and dangerous monster," Breanna Colonna Chisholm wrote.

Police are reportedly working with Crimestoppers to set up a reward, and the Cat Shelter also hopes to set up a reward for whomever comes forward with information.
