Police Searching For Parolee Who Walked Away From Parole Office

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police and the Absconder Recovery Unit are searching for a parolee who walked away from a parole office Wednesday afternoon.

Holly Kramer, spokesperson with the Michigan Department of Corrections, says 19-year old Rowvontae Walker just left the office on Lawton near Grand River and 94 Freeway when he was left alone.

In 2013, Walker was convicted of unarmed robbery.

"We had a parolee, who reported to our Lawton Parole office, and while there he was detained for questioning in a carjacking. While detained he walked away from the parole office," said Kramer.

She says that authorities are still searching for Walker.

If you have any information about the location of Walker you are asked to call Detroit police.
