UPDATE: Missing 26-year-old Wayne State University student found safe

(CBS DETROIT) - The Wayne State University Police Department says a 26-year-old student who had been missing since Monday has been found safe.  

At 11:22 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, police released the update saying the student had been found safe.

Andrew Tyler Watkins had been last seen in the morning on Jan. 8, when he was dropped off on the university's campus. 

Police said that Watkins had last spoke to family members on Tuesday. 

Watkins hadn't checked into his room for the winter semester and was scheduled to start classes today, Thursday, Jan. 11
