Police Search For Teen Who Ran Away From Detroit Youth Home

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are searching for a teen who seemingly vanished after running away from a youth home on the city's east side.

Police say 17-year-old Tyress Taylor was last seen with four other teens on Thursday, Sept. 11, running away from Wolverine Youth Facility in the 2600 block of Lenox, in a neighborhood near Mack and Dickerson avenues.

The four other teens eventually came back to the home, police said, but Taylor has not returned. Taylor's family told police they have not seen or had any recent contact with the teen since he disappeared.

Taylor is described as African-American with a dark complexion, 5'8" tall and 170 lbs. with black hair. He is in good physical and mental condition.
