Police Search For Suspect Who Shot Man Dead Inside SUV That Was Reportedly 'Full Of Kids'

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a man who was sitting inside an SUV in northwest Detroit that was reportedly full of children.

The incident happened just before 7:30 p.m. Friday on Crescent Drive, in a neighborhood near Evergreen Road and Lyndon Street, not far from I-96.

The 29-year-old victim was sitting in his SUV, reportedly holding a neighbor's infant child, when the suspect walked up to the vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene. Reports say several other children were inside the SUV, although it doesn't appear that any were injured.

Other circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately released. It's unclear if the suspect and the victim were acquainted.

The suspect is described as an African-American male with a dark complexion, in his early 20s and about 5'6" tall with a slim build. At the time of the shooting he was wearing blue jeans with a red stripe and a black hoodie.
