Police Release Video Of Possible Witness In Shooting Of WSU Officer
DETROIT (WWJ) - The image of the person in the video is small in comparison to the vast street-scene -- but police believe this person might be a valuable witness in the murder of a Wayne State officer.
On Tuesday, November 22, Collin Rose, 29, was shot in the head during a stop while on patrol near the Detroit campus around 6:30 p.m. in the residential area of Woodbridge.
The five-year veteran of the department, who worked in the canine unit, had just radioed to say he was investigating possible thefts of navigation systems from cars and SUVs, and was about to speak to someone apparently on a bike, Detroit Police Chief James Craig told WWJ.
The suspect in the killing of Rose was later apprehended by police. The person seen in the video, may have witnessed the incident.
If anyone recognizes this witness or has any information pertaining to this crime please call the Detroit Police Department at 313-596-2260 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Citizens can remain anonymous, as always by leaving a tip on our app, DPD Connect.
