Police Release Name Of Man Killed In Fall At Wixom Hotel Construction Site

WIXOM (WWJ) - Authorities in Oakland County have released the name of a man killed in a construction accident on Monday.

Wixom police said 58-year-old Steven Sanborn of Davison, Michigan, toppled from the top of a four-story building shortly after 3 p.m. at a job site on Alpha Drive near I-96 and Wixom Road.

Police said Sanborn working on a parapet wall at the top of a hotel that was under construction when he fell about 46 feet to the ground.

He was treated by EMS at the scene and then taken to Providence Park Hospital in Novi where he later died of his injuries.

The fall appears to have been accidental.

An investigation by police, the Oakland County Medical Examiner's Office and the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) is ongoing.
