Homeland Security Raids Gas Stations Across Wayne County Over Apparent Stolen Goods

DETROIT (WWJ) -  Homeland Security officers are conducting raids throughout Wayne County as part of a case dealing with stolen goods.

At least four gas stations from Downriver to Detroit are part of the investigation, which was carried out Tuesday morning.

At McNichols and Evergreen roads, on Detroit's west side, agents had guns strapped across their chests in full view as they looked for evidence inside. The station was swarming with undercover agents and cars, WWJ's Laura Bonnell reported, but officers on the scene remained tight-lipped.

Similar activities are being executed at three additional locations, including at King Road and Fort Street in Riverview, at 8 Mile Road and Glastonbury on Detroit's west side, and at Grand River Avenue and Avery in Midtown Detroit.

No further details have been released.
