Police Raid Chop Shop On Detroit's East Side

DETRIOT (WWJ) - A chop shop on Detroit's east side has been busted. Detroit police raided several houses on Teppert Street near 7 Mile Road, discovering several stolen autos hidden behind vacant homes in the area.

Sgt. Jonathon Parnell with the Auto Theft Task Force tells WWJ:

"Inside of Detroit, outside of Detroit some of the dates of thefts date back to 2000, even the truck he was using was stolen and re-tagged," said Parnell.

Two people have been arrested says Sgt. Cassandra Lewis.  Ten vehicles were stolen. Police say this operation started when observant neighbors saw what was going on, and called Detroit police.
