Police Perplexed After Man Sets Fire To Cars On Detroit's East Side

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police are trying to find a man who was setting cars on fire on the east side early Tuesday morning.

One car was burning on Hardyke Street near Van Dyke and Harper, while another car was seen going up in flames just a few blocks away on Maxwell Street.

Police say a man was spotted in the area wearing a white shirt and dark-colored pants. At this time, police say they're not sure why the suspect was setting vehicles on fire.

The fire department's arson investigators are working on the case.

No injuries were reported.
