Police: Parents Of Baby Dropped Off Dead At Detroit Hospital In Custody

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police say the parents of a baby dropped off dead at a Detroit hospital Thursday morning are in custody.

Authorities say charges are expected after one of the parents allegedly rolled on the 11-month-old baby while he was asleep in the bed with them.

Officials say the baby boy was brought to St. John's Hospital by his father just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday and was pronounced dead when he arrived.

An investigation is underway and results from the autopsy are expected Friday.

Police spokeswoman Kenyetta Hebron telling the Associated Press that the parents -- ages 38 and 30 -- were arrested Thursday afternoon.
