Police On The Hunt For Suspects Stealing Wallets From Women Shopping At Costco, Trader Joe's

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - Police are asking the public for help in identifying several suspects in connection with the theft of wallets from purses while women have been shopping.

On Monday, October 12, police were called to the Costco on Telegraph in Bloomfield after a woman reported her purse stolen from a shopping cart in the parking lot. The woman was loading groceries into her car and when she turned around her purse was gone from her cart.  The victim's credit cards were used at a gas station in Pontiac.

A couple of days later a series of thefts occurred at Costco, and Trader Joe's Market on Telegraph and Maple. Police responded to identical style robberies of wallets from purses in shopping carts within the store while women were shopping.

The suspects used the stolen credit cards at local banks shortly after the thefts.
