Police Nab 8 Men In Suspected Auto Theft Conspiracy

LIVONIA (WWJ) - Police have arrested eight men after breaking into a secured lot which housed trucks in Livonia.

After receiving credible tips -- cops set up surveillance in the area and it didn't take long until they saw three cars pull up to the lot and cut off the lock and enter the property on December 15.

All of the defendants exited the cars (one which was stolen) according to police and then were arrested.

They are being charged in connection with conspiracy to steal Ford F-150's from the secured storage.

Charged:

Jimmy Lee Harris, 24, Detroit.

Deshawn Lapreace Landers, 25, Detroit.

Darnell Rush, 19, Detroit.

Bernard Lamount Wilkerson, 25, Detroit.

Tommie Nathaniel-Lee, Vaughn, 21, Detroit.

Jalen Ira Johnson, 20, Detroit.

Armani Thomas Taylor-Hatchett, 18, Detroit.

Andre Dominque Cousins, 24, Detroit.

On Friday the defendants were arraigned in the 16th District Court of Livonia by Magistrate Scherr.

Each was given cash bonds ranging from $500,000 to $1,000,000.

The preliminary exam date is scheduled for Monday, January 7, 2016 at the 16th District Court in Livonia.
