Police: Missing Auburn Hills Man May Be Headed Up North

UPDATE: 11:35 a.m. - Police say this missing man has been found safe.

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - Authorities in northern Oakland County are looking for help to find a missing 72-year-old man.

Gilbert David Mattson, 72, of Auburn Hills was last see Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at 2 p.m.; and police believe he may be headed to  northern Michigan or the Upper Peninsula.

Police say he suffers from suffers from dementia and is in need of medication and

Mattson is described as a white male, 5'9", 220 lbs., with grey and black hair.  He was last seen wearing a black Vietnam Veteran's hat, blue jeans with suspenders, white tennis shoes and a green Carhart jacket with the words "Wood Whacker Yooper" on the front left side.

Mattson is driving a gold, 2014 Subaru Outback with Michigan license plate DV208N.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts about this man or his vehicle is asked to call police at 248-370-9460.
