Police: Man Takes Own Life After Pointing Gun At Officers

DETROIT (WWJ) - Detroit police say a man shot and killed himself after he pointed a gun at the officers who were running after him.

Police were called to a hotel parking lot near Michigan Avenue and Wyoming in southwest Detroit around 3 a.m. to investigate an alleged assault.

When officers arrived, the man ran off. After a short chase, police say the man pointed a gun at officers. They fired one shot and missed--and then the man took his own life.
