Police: Man Smokes Bong After High-Speed Chase

DUNDEE (WWJ/AP) - Police have arrested a man who they say smoked from a suspected marijuana bong after a high-speed chase through Ohio and Michigan that ended in a crash.

The incident unfolded Sunday morning after Dundee police were notified that Ohio law enforcement officers were chasing a brown Buick and were about to end their pursuit at the Michigan state line.

Dundee and Michigan State Police officers began following the car, which reached 115 mph on U.S. 23. The vehicle eventually lost control near mile marker 25 and rolled several times into a ditch.

Police say the man lit a bong and smoked what they suspect was marijuana while officers tried to break a window of his car.

The man was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail. His name was not released.
