Police: Man In Ski Mask Attacks Woman Taking Out Trash In Troy

TROY (WWJ) - Police in Troy have released a sketch of a man who allegedly attacked a woman while she was taking out the trash.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 in the 2000 block of Crooks Road, just north of Maple Road.

The woman told police she had exited her apartment and noticed the suspect, whom she had never seen before, carrying an unknown object in his hand. As the woman walked to the dumpster, police say the man followed her, put on a black ski mask and then began running after her.

When the suspect caught up to the woman, he allegedly grabbed her arm and told her, "Shhh! Don't say anything," according to police. The woman started screaming and the suspect released her. He then fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 30-years-old, 5'10 tall and heavy set, with straight, short, light brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black and gray sweatshirt and khaki shorts.

Anyone who recognizes the sketch or who has any other information is urged to call detectives at 248-524-0777, or contact the police department's anonymous tip line at 248-524-3477.
