Police: Man Breaks Into Cash Office At CVS Pharmacy By Removing Window Air Conditioner

WATERFORD (WWJ) - Police are searching for a man who broke into a back room at a local pharmacy, possibly looking for cash, by removing a window air conditioning unit from the wall.

The store's 41-year-old manager told police that man entered the CVS Pharmacy on W. Huron and N. Lynn streets in Waterford just after 8 p.m. Saturday and like any other customer, he grabbed a cart. The man made his way around the store until he reached an employee-only area. At that point, the man removed a window air conditioner in order to reach through and open the locked door to the cash office, police said.

The suspect looked at the safe inside the office and rummaged through some paperwork and files, according to police. It's unclear at this time if the suspect removed anything from the office.

After exiting the office, the man walked around and eventually left the store at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Video footage from the store shows the suspect to be black male, approximately 6-feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and a multi colored beanie-style knit hat.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-674-2677.
