One person injured in shooting on M-39 near Joy Road, Michigan State Police say

Shooting on Southfield Freeway

Michigan State Police say it is investigating a shooting on M-39 near Joy Road in Detroit that was reported on Thursday night.

One person was injured by the gunfire, troopers said Friday morning.

The highway was closed for a time, and reopened about 10:42 p.m., according to Michigan Department of Transportation traffic reports.

It is unclear what led to the shooting. MSP has not released any additional information.
