Police Investigate Second Shooting In Greektown

DETROIT (WWJ) - Investigators continue working in an area near Monroe and Beaubien, where two men were shot in Greektown overnight.

One of the victims died at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital with a stomach wound.

Torontez Williams works nearby and says that he goes to work and goes home rarely stopping in between. "You feel safe in the confines of your home.

"You have to be nervous because now you can't even go to the gas station - you can't go to the store and just a lot of the stuff is senseless," said Williams.

Matt Edwards and his brother were in the area - just a few steps away - when they heard teens running and heard four shots fired."

"I was nervous because you don't know where the bullets coming from - you see kids running back south of Beaubien - you see kids running ... we ran back inside Nikki's Lounge -- we was terrified."

""It's very dangerous," said Matt who works in the area. "We both have children at home, what's the chances of -- you know."

Police have found two guns but are still searching for the suspects.

This is the second shooting in Greektown in the past couple of days. Over the weekend a 18-year-old woman was shot and wounded while walking on Monroe Street.
