Police Investigate Possible Homicide In Bloomfield Township

BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - Authorities are investigating a possible homicide after a man's body was found at an Oakland County condominium complex.

The incident occurred around 6:30  p.m. Thursday at the Knollwood Pointe Condos in the 6000 block of Maple Hills Drive, near Inkster and West Maple roads in Bloomfield Township.

Reporting live from the scene Friday morning, WWJ's Charlie Langton said a number of attached condos were blocked off with police tape, but officers are remaining tight-lipped.

Sources say the man might have been assaulted. Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine an exact cause of death.

Information on the victim was not immediately released. Neighbors say the man was the 77-year-old president of the condominium association, who lived on the property with his son.

Ann Gallison, who has lived in the complex for over 20 years, said she's not sure why someone would want to hurt her neighbor.

"I don't know what to make of it. This doesn't happen in our area. This is very odd," she said. "He was very friendly, a very congenial guy, always a smile on his face."

An investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 248-433-7755 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
