Police Investigate Michigan Man's Slaying In Home

BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, MICH. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the slaying of a 56-year-old southwestern Michigan man who was found shot to death in his home.

Van Buren County Sheriff Dale Gribler says Friday that Scott Taylor Sr. was shot once in the chest.

Taylor was found unresponsive in his Bloomingdale Township home about 2:30 a.m. on Thursday by his son and a family friend. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

Gribler describes a "person of interest" in the case as being an acquaintance of Taylor over the past few months.

Bloomingdale Township is southwest of Grand Rapids.
