Police Investigate Death Of Woman In Waters Of Wild Fowl Bay

BAY PORT, Mich. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old Detroit-area woman who was reported as having fallen from a boat into Wild Fowl Bay.

Huron County investigators told WNEM-TV that Sarah Utich was with her husband when she fell overboard Monday evening into the bay, northeast of Saginaw.

The Sterling Heights couple was aboard a pontoon boat. Sarah Utich was attempting to use a net to remove debris that was in the boat's path. She was not wearing a life jacket.

The television station reports that Kurt Utich told investigators his wife resurfaced about 10 minutes later, but was unresponsive.
