Police Investigate Break-In, Find Man Dead Since October

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Police investigating a suspected break-in at a home in southwestern Michigan say they found the body of a man who had been dead since October.

The Kalamazoo Gazette reports authorities identified the man found July 14 in St. Joseph County's Park Township as 49-year-old Phillip Feek Jr.

A neighbor suspected a break-in and called 911.

WOOD-TV reports the home belonged to Feek's late mother and stepfather. Neighbors in the community near Three Rivers say they thought that the house was vacant.

Shane Feek says his half brother had been in and out of police custody, so the family thought he was in prison instead of at the home.

State police are investigating the death as suspicious. Cause of death wasn't announced. They say Phillip Feek wasn't officially reported as missing.
