Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle Along Michigan Avenue
WESTLAND (WWJ) - Police say a man who was struck by a vehicle as he tried to cross a road along the Wayne-Westland border has died.
The situation unfolded around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Merriman Road.
Officials say the 58-year-old man was crossing Michigan Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. Police say he suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was questioned by investigators.
Merriman was closed in both directions just south of Michigan Avenue for several hours as police investigated the scene, but has since reopened.
