Police Identify Person Of Interest After 2 Fatally Stabbed In Washtenaw County

YORK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WWJ/AP) - Police say they've identified a person of interest after two people were fatally stabbed during a home invasion in Washtenaw County.

Three more people were stabbed in the attack around 6 a.m. Saturday in York Township.

State police Sgt. Mark Thompson tells The Ann Arbor News the investigation continues and detectives had determined a person of interest. Details weren't immediately released, but Thompson says those nearby don't need to be concerned for their safety.

At about 6 a.m. on Saturday, some neighbors said they heard screaming and tires screeching, but nothing sounding like gunshots.

Neighbors say they saw police dogs searching the area while the Michigan State Police Crime Lab searched the scene.

Family friend Sharon Hush says a 12-year-old boy, Timber Brown, was killed. Hush says the boy's 26-year-old half brother also died and the boy's mother had multiple stab wounds.

Hush tells the Detroit Free Press that the boy's mother and another woman were taking their children to a weekend race at Michigan International Speedway.
