Police Identify 2 Bicyclists Hurt In Hit-And-Run Crash

ALAMO TOWNSHIP (AP) — Authorities have identified two bicyclists injured when a pickup truck struck them as they rode with two other bicyclists in southwestern Michigan.

The Kalamazoo County sheriff's department says 50-year-old Mathew Sides of Plainwell and 44-year-old Andrea Fore of Kalamazoo suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

They were struck Thursday night in Alamo Township. The pickup's driver did not stop.

Valerie Litznerski was among the rides and said their bikes were marked with reflective material and flashing lights. She says the injured riders were out of the hospital Friday.

In June, a motorist plowed into a group of bicyclists with his pickup, killing five and injuring four, in Kalamazoo County's Cooper Township, which is nearby. On Monday, a judge ordered Charles Pickett Jr. to trial on second-degree murder charges in that case.
