Police ID Bank Robber With Fingerprint On Note He Passed To Teller
LIVONIA (WWJ) - Police say a fingerprint on a threatening note led to a metro Detroit bank robber's arrest.
Christopher Crowley of Romulus was arraigned Monday on robbery and drug charges after he was identified as the culprit in a Livonia bank robbery.
According to Livonia police, the 29-year-old walked into a Citizens Bank branch on Plymouth Road last Friday and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. He took off with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving the piece of paper he'd passed behind.
Police said they were able to lift Crowley's fingerprint off the paper and track him down. He was arrested Saturday in Inkster and charged with bank robbery, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin and habitual offender.
Bond for Crowley was set at $1 million cash or surety. He'll remain held pending his next court appearance set for Thursday, Oct. 22.
