Police: Doctor, 75, Faces Murder Charge In Wife's 2014 Death

CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (AP) — A 75-year-old Cheboygan doctor has been charged in the 2014 death of his wife.

Jerome Siudara was arraigned Friday on second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges.

Cheboygan County Prosecutor Daryl Vizina says in a statement that Elizabeth Siudara died after ingesting numerous pills prescribed for her.

Vizina says the pills were prescribed "in a wanton and willful disregard for Elizabeth Siudara's well-being" and "was done in a grossly negligent manner."

Jerome Siudara was arrested Thursday. He is held on $500,000 bond. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for March 24.
